ou already know I would’ve never agreed to a camping trip, because one, I need a shower, two, I need a toilet, and three, I dont like being uncomfortable. LOL
So if you are just like me you will LOVE getaway house, its like getting the full camping experience but inside your own tiny home! We drove to the new Dallas Getaway House in LaRue. Tx and only took us about an hour and 30 minutes to get there. Once we did we immediately were amazed at how well equipped everything was. This tiny home included a bathroom, with toilet and shower, and even towels! They also have a kitchen with a stove top (no microwave), a sink, and a mini fridge.
I had booked a house for 4 people so we had 2 queen sized beds which was amazing cause everything was super spacey! When you walk outside you see that you have 4 chairs, a table to gather around and even a fire pit, which we put to good use. If you want to light up a fire, you dont even have to bring your own. Getaway House provides wood, and fire starters for a small fee, but honestly how convenient is that!
I will say that you do have to bring your own food because the only thing they provide is salt/pepper, some coffee essentials like cream/sugar, and that is about it! So make sure you are prepared and know what you are cooking in advance.
We honestly cooked lots of things thanks to Trader Joes. We made shrimp pasta for dinner, chilaquiles for breakfast, grilled cheeses and tomato soup for lunch, and chicken fried rice for dinner. Yall we ate good!
Unfortunately temperatures DROPPED while we were out there, or else we would’ve gone on hikes but Getaway provides you with a map with different trials you can take, and even some points of interest you can drive to. For me, it was still nice to just relax, talk with my friends and hangout a bit inside in the house.
